Fits the trial definition now

There was this little trial some weeks ago between Apple and Epic where a game was defined as having a beginning, and end and some challenges in between, and now Svipugong does as I have added an Exit to the game (it turns up after you reach a threshold of points). So now the game is not just playable, it is also a game according to Apple. Not bad.

Now, this may not sound like a big step and it really isn't. This did however bring with it the first restructuring of the code as I am learning Ruby and the first version of the code had a bit much duplication. Nothing special done, just some simple class hierarchy and inherintance. But still a small level up of Ruby complexity.

I have to say I am growing quite fond of the language. I actually like programming in it enough to consider it for some other small projects I want to do. It's probably not always the objectively best choice, but it seems to be a choice that is easy to stick with, and it's with languages like it is with a camera or any equipment. The best camera is the one you actually bring with you and use, and the same with languages. If you don't want to write in it and just procrastinate, it may be good on paper, but obviously not fun enough. I am getting plenty of Lisp, Smalltalk and Perl vibes from Ruby and I have to say that I am enjoying it :)

Now, perhaps I should start making the game look a little better..
